The two diagrams of the Islip town centre give the information about the city currently and how it will look after redevelopment.

It is clear that the main road as well as the school and the park will remain largely unchanged. However, the transport infrastructure will be considerably upgraded, most notably with the addition of the dual carriageway and a range of new buildings.

Currently, the town centre only consists of a main road running from east to west with some shops on each side, and two paths to access the school and park on the southeast and southwest areas, respectively. However, in the planed new centre, the shops in the north will be to the countryside area, which will transformed into bus station, shopping centre, car park, and a new housing. As for the southern area of the main road, there are only two housing areas now, but a new housing will be added into it in the new centre.

Besides, the main road will remain unchanged except that it will only for pedestrians. The two paths mentioned above will be removed as a dual carriageway will surround the new centre with only a single path in the north-east to the new housing area. It can be seen that the school and on housing area will be outside the dual carriageway.
