Many museums only charge customers for entrance fees and provide other services without extra payment. From my perspective, it is good to charge people for admission though sometimes it prevents poor people from entering museums.

Charging tickets can help governments raise more funds to ensure museums run smoothly. As we all know a large amount of money will be used to maintain the museums’ conditions. Some expenses such as air conditioners, repairing cost and lighting are often very high because those items are so fragile. Many governments might become overburdened with their limited operating budgets if they merely open museums for free. Moderate admission fees can be a great help in preserving precious exhibitions in museums.

Besides, this action can bring customers a better visiting experience when they visiting. They can avoid museums being crowded and noisy by controlling the number of tickets they release to the public, customers can enjoy a better service while there are fewer people in museums.

However, sometimes admission fees might become a heavy burden for those who come from poor families. Those people might hardly afford the high ticket fees thus they have to give up visiting museums in order to save money, which might deprive the opportunities for those people especially adolescents to learn more by viewing exhibitions and materials in museums.

In conclusion, charging public for admission is a good way for museums to provide a better service to the public, though some people might not able to pay for a visit.
