As most people spend a major part of their adult life at work, job satisfaction is an important element of individual well-being. What factors contribute to job satisfaction? How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers?

Job is now essential for most people, and it takes a major part of people’s life. So, job satisfaction means a lot for people nowadays.

There are several factors affect job satisfaction. For example, if an employee
works for 12 hours a day, taking over most time of a day, he/she will be more likely to has low satisfaction. Likely, the difficulties and rewards(both physically and mentally)contribute to job satisfaction too. Additionally, an experience of George Elton Mayo claimed that interpersonal relationship attaches great importance to job satisfaction. If workers have good relationships, they will be more joyful during working, which will increase their satisfaction of job.

While job satisfaction is vital for people’s lives, however, the truth is not bright. We’re living in an era where economy is moving back, and laboratory’s supply exceeds demand, therefore finding a good job is more difficult than ever before. In many conditions, people are doing boring and meaningless jobs. Many people have to choose the job they dislike press by living.

Although real life is cruel, by improving the factors above and having an optimistic mind, workers will achieve higher satisfaction.
