Social and political problems often affect the real world and the governments. I partially agree with the statement that teachers should not comment on social or political issues in class. From my perspective, I still believe that they ought to reveal their opinions with their students.

To begin with, discussing social problems in the classroom remains crucial in spreading the correct values to students. For example, moral kidnapping has become controversial in society. My teacher in high school told us that rich people do not have to participate in many charitable activities. Also, others cannot criticize them because of not donating large amounts of money to the poor. As a result, people cannot use their own moral standards to force others to agree with them.

Additionally, considering that many learners’ ideas about affairs are superficial, professors can guide students to think critically. Due to abundant social and teaching experiences, they have developed a deeper understanding of the events happening in our society. For instance, the Economics instructors could explore the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on import and export trade with students. Not only can students gain brand-new perspectives to the social ills, but also pay more attention to all society corners.

Admittedly, some individuals deem that several instructors may hold incorrect viewpoints on social matters and their own behaviors cannot set a good example for students. For instance, a teacher called on the students to support a superstar with scandals. For this reason, the teachers’ improper view towards this public figure could mislead students’ attitudes. However, I believe that most teachers are able to provide appropriate guidance.

To conclude, under most circumstances, teachers ought to speak out their views on social or political affairs to their students. This method undoubtedly facilitates students to form correct values and think about issues with broader perspectives.

Both the reading passage and the lecture discuss the effectiveness of teamwork projects. The author of the reading passage believes that the best approach to new projects is to use the group system to handle the work. Nevertheless, the professor puts forward three points and then effectively refutes the opinions of the reading passage.

To begin with, the reading passage argues that a group of people will possess a wider range of expertise and skills. However, the professor claims that some team members did not contribute much at all, getting almost a “free ride”. Besides, group members who work hard were not given the recognition they deserve.

Next, the author believes that people are more responsive to the task assigned to them and able to devise creative solutions to problems. On the contrary, the professor argues that reaching an agreement among all group members is difficult. Thus, groups need more time for meetings in order to reach a consensus.

Finally, the author states that a team member who has a voice in making decisions feels better. However, the professor thinks that some influential members would have a great impact on group decisions. If they went in the wrong direction, sensible members who try to warn the rest of the group would be ignored. As a result, all members would be blamed for the unsuccessful project.

I am afraid I have to disagree that excellent social skill is more important than diligent study for a career success. People with good grades could have basic professional knowledge and solve many problems at work. From my perspective, I believe that attaining outstanding academic records is vital.

To begin with, it is crucial to concentrate on one’s studies at school. Every profession has its concepts and principles for students to learn. For instance, as a clinical medicine student, I should master the concepts and theories to become a qualified doctor in the future. The specialized knowledge will assist me to diagnose and treat patients. Also, only lawyers with legal knowledge can help clients. According to my personal experience, learning theories could excel in working.

Additionally, academic study can solve professional problems at work. To be specific, university students need to collect information from the Internet to accomplish essays, so that they can analyze different things and tackle problems effectively. Besides, people can have more creative ideas and abilities to solve different matters. For example, scientists do experiments and think of the mechanism by which a phenomenon occurs. Musicians come up with new ideas to compose excellent music. Thus, academic study is useful for dealing with issues in the future job.

Admittedly, some individuals deem that social network is an essential factor in success. For instance, a social person like my grandma has lots of friends and can get help with ease to achieve success. What is more, this kind of knowledge may not be available in textbooks.

To conclude, under most circumstances, it is for the benefit of a career that people ought to study hard at school since it equips them with necessary information and problem-solving skills. These two elements are both critical in the attainment of career accomplishments.
