Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters(such as food, clothes) is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. Others believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them.

Several individuals strongly consider children who decided everyday matters will become a selfish person while others advocate children should be more allowed to decide the matters that affect their life. In my point of view, people should allow their children make decision after guidance.

Restricting children do daily matters is supported by some people who think those children will more focus on themselves. Some families do not allow their children decide simple things. Some of parents just prepare everything such as clothes and food well for their kids. They ignored the preference of their children and do not ask whether their children like or not, although children may live a better childhood for they do not need think lots of things and they can just play games what they want. It may damage children’s ability of life which means they do not have own opinions on daily matters. The consequence may be that they do not know how to deal with matters without their parents.

Some men and women suggest that children should decide matters which affect themselves. It is true that decide things by children themselves are beneficial for them as they can do whatever they want. However, most of children do not have well-skill and well-knowledge to distinguish which option is good or evil. Sometimes, students do not have a long-term consideration. For example, a student’s favorite thing is singing so that he wants to choose a major which related to singing. This student does not consider his career what he can do after graduate which may causes hard to find a well-paid job in the future.

In my view, parents should allow their children make decision with guidance of teaching them the advantages and disadvantages of what they decided. It is the reason why we pay more attention on good education. In addition, parents should tell children assume responsibility to choices their children make which means children could not blame others if they do not get a good result. It is beneficial for children to think independently and know what their truly want.
