Nowadays people are thrown into a fast-paced and crowded world. Much emphasis has been laid on how to grab opportunities, get a promotion, earn more money, and stuff. It seems that fewer people care about being polite, let alone expect. However, the less underappreciated it was, the more important it became to society. Therefore I think we should expect to be polite to others.

Admittedly, sometimes, it is not easy to be aware of the need for courtesy. Especially on a crowded subway, we may offend others without knowing it.

However, only by craving and pursuing politeness can we create a friendly neighborhood. Politeness is reflected in all aspects of life, expanding choice beyond greeting your neighbors and giving them a hand. In the past, we used to chat with a passerby, and pick up our neighbor’s kid and we enjoyed the hospitable atmosphere and land. Whereas now going into heavy work and closer quarters, the vast majority is kept constantly on the run and become indifferent to others around us. Then we feel cold and aloof. In this way, we lose not only a friendly neighbor but also a helpful self. So what are we waiting to revive our former hospitality? There is no doubt that dying for politeness is the best way to rebuild our amicable blocks.

Furthermore, only by expecting it can politeness last forever. As we all know, courtesy is the symbol of spiritual civilization, the key to social stability, and the foundation of people’s interaction. It has much importance. If we don’t expect it, how can it survive and develop well? The expectation is both for resisting and insisting. What do I mean by assigning two different aspects to the function of expectation? Following the powerful force of expectation, it gives us the courage to resist the rude status quo in the trivial and hustling world. Second, it encourages us to insist on being polite, even the ideal spiritual civilization.

To summarize, we should expect people to be polite to others for establishing a nice neighborhood and letting politeness exist for good.
