Personal Statement for Columbia University MS in Operations Research

Having examined Columbia’s MS in Operations Research program, I conclude that expects an enrolled student to develop strong mathematical modeling and programming capabilities that can be extrapolated to resolve mathematically programmable problems in the domains of economics, finance, and general management.

In other words, this is a multidisciplinary program that blends the training of mathematics, statistics, probability and programming. Students matriculate elective courses in various departments to sharpen their career focus.
