As human societies keep marching forward, there are more and more talents who have broad knowledge in various of subjects in the past few decades. It is common to see that these people are well fitted in the societies and lead successful lives. I believe that in a highly developed period, it is better to have a wide range of knowledge than to specialize in one subject.

Nowadays, the cross field of many subjects are tending to be more and more popular. Nothing has been so in demand as elites who have great achievements in various of subjects. For instance, psychology, requires people to grasp skilled computer technologies to analysis facial expressions and emotion. Advanced finance, needs people to be skillful of mathematic to arbitrage by using systematic and steady strategies. In this case, people who have wider range of knowledge are likely to gain more opportunities.

Secondly, learning well of different subjects usually means grasping abundant sources. During the process of studying a subject, it is common to meet people who specialize in this field. Hence majoring in various of subjects can help people to build wide connections to specialists in different fields. These sources will make it easier for people overcome plenty of barriers.

It doesn’t mean that to be specialize in a single subject is lack of importance. Elites who specialize in one field have the capacity to promote the development of our societies and shift our cognition dramatically. For example, Einstein, a well-known physician, had influenced the technologies through different aspects by his theory of relativity.

In conclusion, people who have excellent behavior in different subjects are in great demand. They are well fitted to the societies and have greater possibilities to lead successful lives. In contrast, it is difficult for people to specialize in a single subject nowadays. In my opinion, it is better to study in different fields than to specialize in one subject.
