Employees will feel more satisfied if they are required to do multiple tasks at work instead of doing only one task all day long.

Some employers suggest employees do only one tasks for whole days, while others insist on letting employees do multiple tasks at work. From my point of view, requiring employees to do one task all day would lead to vital problems. Instead, requiring them to do multiple tasks would be more advisable.

Letting employees do one task all day would make them feel bored, decrease their working efficiency, and increase the risk of being criticized by their boss. People might easily get bored or worn out for always dealing with the same stuffs and conducting the same progress. Once they feel bored about their work, their speed might slow down. On the other hand, owing to the long period of doing this task, some employees might trap into the blind confidence, feeling that they would always do right things thus acting less carefully at work. Therefore, though they may not cause big problems because of their familiarity with the task, small mistakes would be frequent and influence the whole process of the task. Apparently, the boss would be angry to see tasks being put off then would probably accuse these employees. Thus, employees would not be so satisfied when they are required to do only one task for a long time.

In contrast, letting employees do multiple tasks would not only maintain their passion toward work but also give them a sense of achievement. Working with totally fresh things would stir up people’s interests and curiosity. And multiple tasks could make sure employees’ thrill about their work since they have to constantly deal with new things and pay more attention to the deadlines of different tasks. Besides, since it seems not easy to finish these tasks at the same time successfully, accomplishing these missions would give employees a strong satisfaction of achieving such hard goals.

To sum up, instead of doing one thing all day long, employees should be required to do multiple tasks at work. In this way, staff’s satisfactory would improve to a certain extent.
