Speaking in the same language may help individuals build up a connection and make friends. Secondly, a globalized language causes travel more convenient. In comparison with English speaking countries, countries that don’t speak English tend to have fewer visitors. One of the main reasons is the language barrier builds between natives and travelers. Thirdly, using the same linguistic system leads to a more efficient working environment. Hundreds of years before, scientists invented SI units to cut the time for converting units. Globalizing language can also save lots of resources since individuals don’t need translation anymore.

Despite the above arguments, the drawbacks of globalized language still outweigh the benefits. Language is the embodiment of culture. Talk-show is essential entertainment in many countries and most jokes in talk-show come from pun and metaphor. Lots of Chinese people cannot understand American talk-show, because it contains many unique American customs. What’s more, diversity makes languages more wonderful. Compared with brave American novels, France novels are more romantic and smooth. These writing styles represent one country’s cultural identity. Besides, different languages produce different art forms. Typical examples will be Peking opera and Shakespeare musical.

In conclusion, simplifying languages builds a more efficient and convenient society. However, I would argue that these benefits are outweighed by the drawbacks as various languages are a part of people’s spiritual civilization.
