Today’s world is developing at high speed. While some people think History is an essential school course, others treat Science as the most valuable subject. In my opinion, science education is necessary, whereas History is still as crucial as before.
History is always a fundamental course, no matter how the world changes. It helps individuals to learn about the culture and customs of their countries. What’s more, History offers us a better understanding of the world. For example, without a history study, we won’t know the world is a whole before many centuries. Furthermore, people learn from the past and make progress. After the 2008 financial crisis, more precise bank policies appear. After the decrease in air quality, every country signs the contracts to improve the environment. These behaviors show people taking lessons from the past.
However, Science indeed becomes more dominant these days. Knowledge of Science and Technology is vital for people to discover new things. For example, individuals begin to learn more about the moon after people improving space technology. In this fast-developing world, individuals need Science skills to avoid robots replacing them. Careers like farmers who don’t rely on high skills are easily substituted. Moreover, a better understanding of Science and Technology can improve one country’s international competitiveness. The best example will be countries like the U.S. and Japan as they are powerful because they have lots of advanced technologies.
To sum up, I think Science has taken a more crucial role in modern days. However, History education is still unignorable.
