    TPO 02 Integrated writing: In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. 

    The lecture is mainly about a project done by a company, analyzing the effect of teamwork in different circumstances. The result showed that the “free worker” who didn’t participate much in the teamwork would get no benefit from the team’s recognition. However, for those “well-engaged worker”, the recognition belongs to the whole team but not particular any individuals, which is contradictory to the reading article. In the article, it is stated that each individual team member can be rewarded and is more likely to point out and recognized as important.

    However, the lecture also pointed out some problems in group work. For some groups, the project is difficult to develop, for it’s hard for the whole group to reach an agreement. This holds a disparate view with the article, as the article argued that teams can get things done with higher efficiency because they have more resource. Additionally, there could be some “influential people” in the team so that the direction is hard to change once the decision is made by the people with high influence. But it will be the whole team’s responsibility to carry the result once it fails. Finally, the opinoin from different side is sometimes easy to be ignored once the so-called “highly creative”
