In some countries, there has been an increase in the number of parents who educate their children themselves at home instead of sending them to school.
Parents in some area choose to teach their kids by themselves rather than going to school. In my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
Admittedly, parents act as teachers can improve the studying efficiency. Since parents know their kids the best, they could find the most suitable way to teach the child. Such as use games to teach knowledge and spend more time on the children’s interested topics. In addition, there are far less student that parents needs to teach compare to teachers. Therefore, they could concentrate on the study of one child and solve all problems in education.
However, schools are more professional than parents. Teachers in school have a degree in the subject they teach with certificates in teaching strategies. As they always plan a study guide with organized academic materials to support students. After that, exams are scheduled to reveal the recent studying progress and give feedback to both students and parents. They also have more resources, such pick talented students to compete academically with other schools or even on national level. Only by studying at schools can a student enjoy the professional resources they provide.
Additionally, students can train their social and cooperation skills at school. In school, students study as a class with peers to compete and cooperate. Teachers would give group works, so the process of work as a team can advance their communication strategies. Also, schools have balls and events, so students have to learn about the social skills. Barely can a student study at home attend such situations to improve their abilities to socialize with people.
In conclusion, students benefits more when study at school rather than have parents as teacher.
