Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, there is argument that living in a foreign country with speaking another language can create severe problems in social and practical dimensions. I agree that expressing in non-native language in a foreign country can bring challenges.

In social aspect, individuals have difficulty in communicating with each other on account of diversified values. Countries located in different areas on Earth are originated from utterly differentiated cultures. For instance, ancient Greek culture believed that spirit of adventure has ability to create fortune, while traditional Chinese culture remained that conservation and moderation should be the right life style. As a result, people growing up in differentiated culture atmosphere have their own values, which leads to conflicts in some specific fields, such as politics and economies. It is too tough for humankinds to reach agreement on those fields because of the imprint of every unique culture. In other words, communication problem is resulted from human own values.

When it comes to practical aspect, mastering a large amount of specialized vocabulary and another thinking module are the most challenging affairs for people to handle with. Specialized vocabulary is distinct from common words, while the former is complex and easily forgettable.  In addition, better understanding will occur if using the same thinking pattern. Accompanied with speaking in a foreign language, thinking module will change as well. Expressing in English prefers to demonstrate conclusion following by reasons, but in Chinese, the situation is totally opposite. Therefore, interacting with people in non-native language in a foreign country also tests individuals whether they have enough competence of utilizing different thinking patterns to make listeners better understand conversation.

Overall, I believe that social and practical problems will be brought because of living in a foreign country and speaking in another language.

    Issues:

    1. About 40% of the sentences exceed 20 words. Shorten/split them.
    2. About 30% of the sentences are passive. Convert some of them into their active counterparts.
    3. Lengthy paragraphs. Restrict each paragraph to 90 words.
