Many museums charge for admission while others are free. Do you think the advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantage？

People have different views about whether the museums should be free to visit. While there are some benefits of free entrance, I believe that charging for admission is usually better.

On the one hand, when the museums are ticket-free to the public, everyone has the opportunity to visit the museums and experience the charm of art pieces or antiques. People are educated after seeing the exhibitions in museums. As a result, their sense of art will be improved and their knowledge to foreign fields will increase. If one must pay for a visit, it’s very likely lots of people will choose not to do so. Not everyone can afford the price, or they’re simply reluctant to pay for it.

On the other hand, it’s perhaps even more important for museums charging for admission. First and foremost, it gives the museums financial support to operate. For example, when the fund is abundant, the museums can buy new art pieces, artifacts and even antique masterpieces. They will spend more money on maintenance of articles and repairs of some broken ones. Besides, the equipment and environment in the museums will be updated due to enough financial support. More technologically advanced equipment such as automatic introduction earphones which connect with Bluetooth in the cellphones will be added to the tour. Thus, the visitors will have a better visiting experience and actually learn something at the same time, which means the quality of the exhibition is guaranteed. Thirdly, a reasonable price can restrict the amount of visitors to some extent, and therefore leave more spacious space for the people who would like to visit the museums.

In conclusion, although there are some advantages of free entrance to museums, it seems to me that advantages of charging people for admission to museums is more preferable.
