IELTS Task 2: People are never satisfied and always want more. In what ways is this a good thing and in what ways is this a bad thing?

With the development of the economy and technology, people have the chance to purchase a more diverse living style. Some people become greedy for material possessions, while others are eager to be rich in their souls.

In my opinion, dissatisfaction is a boost for purchasing higher mental experience, as well as deep science researches, while it can also lead to over materialistic.

As the old saying goes: People eat bread to live, but not live for bread. Our daily lives are far more than eating, working and sleeping. Domains such as art and literature can bring us about lots of wisdom as well. If we possess a high aesthetic culture, we can have more common topics with a group of friends, and they will find us an interesting soul. Furthermore, human society is propelled by the dissatisfaction for our current state. We try our best to discover numerous scientific theories and create many inventions to raise our working-force in order to accumulate more wealth. Dissatisfaction is the reason why we had two Industry Revolutions and Science Revolution.

However, dissatisfaction brings about greedy. People aspire to earn a high salary, and they want bigger houses and more luxurious cars. They connect wealth and material possessions with happiness and success. In some extreme cases, dissatisfaction causes greed and crime. We should return to traditional values like sharing.

In conclusion, people are all willing to hunt for more. However, sometimes, the priority is to enrich our mental world.
