People in daily lives would frequently do the jobs that need creativity, such as the job you have never done before. Under this circumstance, do you prefer to work alone or work with others?

Nowadays, due to the multiplicity of market demand, people have to do innovative jobs from time to time. Personally, I would like to work with a group of people under this circumstance.

Undoubtedly, several minds are definitely more creative than a single one. Even in the same group, each team member has a distinct background, such as different majors and expertise, people, therefore, will have a different point of views about the same issue, which is the only way to think out of box-collision of ideas. For example, scientists used to have difficulties to process image with computer since the image is not suitable for traditional neural network’s data structure. This problem was not solved until 1980, a Japanese computer scientist called Kunihiko Fukushima put forward a new architecture named as Convolutional Neural Network. He was inspired by a biological concept called local perceptive field discovered by two American biologists when they study a cat’s visual nervous system. Computer vision would probably still be a thorny problem if it had not been for three scientists who worked closely with each other and applied an interdisciplinary approach.

In addition, group-working can greatly boost efficiency. To be honest, I don’t’ think there is a project that you can’t get into it at all, even in the worst situation, you can do still the paperwork, like using Microsoft Word to write a report. So, when working in a group, people can divide the labour, that is to say, let each one do part of the job that he is familiar with. In this way, all group members can feel a sense of belonging as everyone gets involved and the program can be done as quickly as possible since everybody is doing what he is best at.

For those reasons, we can safely conclude that to finish the job with high quality and high efficiency, people should work with others.
