Nowadays, people in some countries can choose to live and work anywhere they want because of the improvement of transportation and communication technologies. Discuss the benefits and the drawbacks of the phenomenon.

Technological improvement has changed the way people live and work. In some regions, people can choose live and workplaces as their willings owing to convenient transportation and communication tools. However, this phenomenon has advantages and disadvantages from different perspectives.

On the one hand, this can benefit individuals, companies, and society in many aspects. First, it is undoubted that people will live and work more conveniently and efficiently. This situation would increase their productivity and save much of unnecessary time. They would have more leisure time helping them balance work and home life. Second, more productive employees will further benefit organizations. They will gain more profits and find it easier to survive in the marketplace. Third, with the improvement of people’s life quality, society will be more harmonious. And governments will gain more tax revenue in a prosperous market, which could be put into infrastructure construction and improve social prosperity.

On the other hand, there are several disadvantages in this circumstance. Sometimes, people may choose to communicate online rather than through face-to-face conversation. They may find it hard to get familiar with each other and generate a sense of trust through online talk.

Besides, convenient transportation may cause more pollution. People may tend to live far away from their workplace and these long travels waste more energy and emit more greenhouse gases.

In conclusion, convenient technologies is a double-edged sword and should be used judiciously.
