Some people believe that the salaries paid to professional sportspeople are too high, while others argue that their salaries are fair. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
People have different views about whether the salaries paid to professional sportspeople are fair or not. In my view, the salaries of sportspeople should be compatible with the wages most people earn.
There are two main reasons why it could be argued that the salaries paid to sportspeople are fair. Firstly, sports stars entertain millions of people. For example, there are countless fans of sports around the world watching sports programs every day for fun and entertainment, which also encourages them to do sports and improve their skills. Secondly, money is necessary to improve facilities and train athletes. This ensures athletes to get better training and even can get effective feedback by high-tech analysis.
However, I would agree that sports professionals earn too much money than they should. We could all live happily without professional football players, but life would be difficult without doctors, engineers and other vital professionals. Society does not seem to value these professions as highly as the professional sportspeople. For example, doctors and scientists who have made great contributions to the society earn meager income. Therefore, it’s extremely unfair to pay sportspeople much more than valuable people like scientists.
In conclusion, while there are reasons to believe that sportspeople deserve earning so much money, my view is that they are paid much more than they should.

As a result of constant media attention, sports professionals in my country have become stars and celebrities, and those at the top are paid huge salaries. Just like movie stars, they live extravagantlifestyles with huge houses and cars.
Many people find their rewards unfair, especially when comparing these super salaries with those of top surgeons or research scientists, or even leading politicians who have the responsibility of governing the country. However, sports salaries are not determined by considering the contribution to society a person makes, or the level of responsibility he or she holds. Instead, they reflect the public popularity of sport in general and the level of public support that successful stars can generate. So the notion of ‘fairness’ is not the issue.
Those who feel that sports stars’ salaries are justified might argue that the number of professionals with real talent are very few, and the money is a recognition of the skills and dedication a person needs to be successful. Competition is constant and a player is tested every time they perform. in their relatively short career. The pressure from the media is intense and there is little privacy out of the spotlight. So all of these factors may justify the huge earnings.
Personally, I think that the amount of money such sports stars make is more justified than the huge earnings of movie stars, but at the same time, it indicates that our society places more value on sport than on more essential professions and achievements.

People have different view whether sports professionals’ salaries are justified or not. In my opinion, sports stars deserve high remuneration as they work hard to get to where they are; however, their salaries should be at par with other professions as they play a vital role in the society.
For those people who advocate that the salaries sports athletes received are fully justified claim that sports-related job is considered risky as they tend to incur injuries during a game or while training. Moreover, one of the reasons why athletes deserve to get every dime available is that they are setting themselves for life. Once a professional athlete retires, most of them do not get a lucrative job or career. Therefore, it is justified that they get paid more as their career is never going to last for a long time.
On the other hand, some people claim that these athletes do not deserve the huge salaries they are getting argue that their earnings should be at par or equivalent with other professions as they play a significant role in the society. For instance, doctors spent a long time specializing to be able to save lives. In addition, teachers also should be paid more as they are the people who made it possible for other professionals to be where they are. Without teachers, there will be no doctors, lawyers or even sports professionals.
In conclusion, I agree that sports athletes should be paid more as they devote their entire life to be where they are and their profession is not a lifetime career; however, it is also unfair for other professionals who make huge impact on the society.
