In this technology era, the electronic devices have become an indispensable part of people’s daily life. It is hard to deny that the technology may cause the young to waste too much time on the Internet and such a fact lead impressionable people to generate the idea that the technology is harmful to children and parents should set a time limit on children using electronic devices every day. However, such a statement suffers from both logical and factual fallacies, which should be examined meticulously. Three are three main reasons that justify the opinion that students should not be set a time limit on the technology.

First and foremost, restriction always leads to a counter effect to what people expected. Since the young are always curious about everything in the world, it is not a wise choice to make a restriction on such an intruiging object. Further, if a child wants to play a computer game, he may go to the Internet bar to fulfill his wish due to his parents’ restriction.

Moreover, the technology is a feasible way of learning, since children are accessible to all the cutting-edge information. Let me elaborate this view with two examples. The first is a classmate of mine, who now studies computer science in MIT, was given access to the computer when he was only 4 years old. When he faced with some computer problems, he had to fix the problem by himself and even make some programming. Had it not been for his exposure to the technology when he was so young, he would not gain the opportunities to develop his own interests.

Nevertheless, a voice arises that some Internet websites may expose children to juvenile delinquency. Ironically, if the child is not self-displined, He will find other methods to kill time and go through some unhealthy information. In a word, the time restriction could do nothing for preventing children from delinquency.

In a word, technology is a way of learning instead of a harmful toy. When children use it in the right way, it will do unpredictable good to children.
