Nowadays, attending online courses helps students study at home without classrooms, so it has been agreed that it is not essential to schools. Although online schooling brings a few benefits for students, I think schools have been keeping important educational values.

Online study is not limited by places and time, which is convenient and flexible. When students cannot go to school, they can study continuously by live video or audio classes. Especially, during the COVID-19 pandemic, this way resolves the problem that students were banned from their homes. However, online education incurs several issues. The first one is that not everyone can afford devices for online classes. The traditional educational method is more easily accepted by students from poor families.

Another negative influence is that studying at home did not offer a suitable learning atmosphere, which formed an obstacle for real interaction among classmates and teachers. Hence the effect of teachers’ monitors is weakened, which causes class disciplines to lose constraint force. Specifically, some students who lack great self-control may play computer games and have a class at the same time. Consequently, students’ educational performances are poorer than while they study at school.

From a healthy angle, it is harmful to student’s health. If they study at home all day like them at school, they have to sit in front of screens for a long time, which occupies their activities’ time to hinder them from exercising and their eye break. As time passes, various physical problems like cervical spondylosis and near sight will occur. Moreover, the majority of students are children or teenagers, this study approach will have a detrimental impact on their development.

In conclusion, schools as a mature educational pattern are indispensable. When students cannot go to school, online study can be an available alternative.
