Children should be taught about basic rules and morality to become a good member for society. I believe that this education process needs the joint effort of both parents and schools.

On the one hand, parents are the best teachers to their children. Kids are full of curiosity towards the world at very young age. They tend to learn and mimic the behavior of adults around him, especially their parents. Thus, if parents are good models in dealing with society, their kids are more likely to become kind citizens when they grow up. What’s more, parents have strong constraint force on their kids’ behavior. They are the ones who provide foods for them and buy them what they want. So, by refusing offering those things, their orders or advice can be easily adopted by children.

On the other hand, schools are important places for children’s behavior correction. At school, children learn how to get along well with other students and behave well in team work, which are significant personal qualities to be involved in society. Besides, children spend most of their adolescent period at school, during which their self-conscious are waken up and they are more likely to be influenced by bad people. In that case, school should take the responsibility on teaching the students how to face the bad things in society.

In my opinion, parents and schools play equally important role on teaching children to become good members of society. Parents’ words and behavior can usually be followed. While, schools can teach children the important personal qualities during their adolescent ages.
