    Students do reading by their own personality is as important as, or more important than reading assigned by ‎teachers.‎

    Reading on one’s own or following by teacher’s instruction is heated disputed over recent years. Some people consider that reading what assigned by their teachers is a better way for students to read effectively. However, I hold an opinion that reading on their own can help them develop their independency, read more effectively and get higher achievements.

    . First of all, reading on their own can develop their independency of study. When they read on their own, they have to search suitable resources, compare with other books and newspapers, and learn relevant knowledge. In this way, students will be able to gasp ability of searching resources, and choose suitable books to read. As a result, it is beneficial for them to study other knowledge in a long term.

    Moreover, reading what decided by themselves also make them get higher achievements. If a student is allowed to read anything they want, it will help them discover their interests and inspire them learning deeply.  For example, my literature professor constantly read books he is interested with from childhood. He could absorb a large quantity of knowledge and do lots of regarding researches since he was a primary school student.  As a result, he got a lots of rewards and became a famous literature professor. On the other hand, my professor’s cousin also presented talent of literature in his childhood. However, his teacher considered that he should read what assigned by teachers instead of what he was interested in. Eventually, professor’s cousin could not make use of his talents and became a common salary man.

    Admittedly, teachers are more professional so that they can assign valuable books for students to read. However, books assigned by teachers are not suitable to everyone. If a student is assigned to read something he does not accept, he will read ineffectively and trigger his resistance of reading.

    From what I discussed above, reading students on their own rather than assigned by teachers could trigger their impetus of studying, develop their independency, and get a higher achievement.

    1. About 30% of the sentences exceed 20 words. Simplify or split them. (TOEFL/IELTS: 15%- qualifies for non-software revision; 30% applies to GRE writing)
    2. About 40% of the sentences are passive; convert them into their active counterparts. (10%- qualifies for non-software TOEFL/IELTS/GRE writing revision );
    3. Don’t fabricate something that challenges common sense i.e., ‘Reading on one’s own or following by teacher’s instruction is heated disputed over recent years. ‘

    Most of us are used to following instructions of teachers and accomplishing whatever they assigned. Some people consider that reading what assigned by their teachers is a better way for students to read effectively. However, I strongly hold an opinion that reading on their own can help them develop their independence, read more effectively and get higher achievements.

    First of all, reading on their own can develop their independence of study. When they read on their own, they have to search suitable resources, compare with other books and newspapers, and learn relevant knowledge. Meanwhile, students will enable to apply this method not only in reading, but also in other subjects such as math, chemistry and so on. Furthermore, it is beneficial them lifetime because independence is much important in every aspect of their lives such as overcoming difficulties and making choices.

    Secondly, reading what decided by themselves could inspire their potential talents, indicates that makes them get higher achievements. If a student is allowed to read anything they want, it will help them discover their interests and inspire them learning deeply. For example, my literature professor constantly read books he is interested with from childhood. He could absorb a large quantity of knowledge and do lots of researches since he was a primary school student.  As a result, he got a lots of rewards and became a famous literature professor. Had it not been for my professor was allowed to whatever he want, he would never become a famous scholar.

    Admittedly, teachers are more professional so that they can assign valuable books for students to read. Ironically, books assigned by teachers are not suitable to everyone. If a student is assigned to read something he does not accept, he will read ineffectively and trigger his resistance of reading. Therefore, if the reading do students on their own, they will tend to make full use of potential talent and read more effectively.

    In conclusion, reading students on their own rather than assigned by teachers could trigger their impetus of studying, develop their independency, and get a higher achievement.
