Technology designed to make people’s lives simpler actually makes people’s lives more complicated.

Technology designers’ ambition is to change the world and make life simpler. What surprise them is that some people claim technology makes their lives more complicated. From my perspective, it is unfair to blame the complication life on technology.

Technology plays an irreplaceable role in modern life. With the intelligent alarm running, we start a new day. With the sleep monitoring system, we can know our sleeping quality last night. With smart phones, we can make a video call to greet our parents. When we commute to work, the online map tells us which way is less crowded. When we deal with tasks, the Internet enables us to communicate with coworkers all around the work. When we prepare for a date, the rank of restaurants just shows up on our application. Just imagine one day without technology. Everything will be out of track.

With all of these technologies, our life quality improves a lot. Considered the convenience brought by technology, it is surprising that some people state that it makes life complicated. Why to explain this phenomenon? People feel stressed out when they are faced with more choices. With the assistance of technology, there are various solutions to a single problem. They used to solve problem in the most accustomed way without careful consideration, therefore their lives seem to be more complex now. However, the fact is technology improves efficiency. If people are able to take the advantage of technology to make important decisions, they will find it is conducive to their daily routines.

In a nutshell, technology does bring us infinite convenience. Once we get to know how to use technology, technology will benefit us instead of bother us.
