    Consumer spending of different countries are quite different,The chart above describes the percentage of different countries’ spending on three kinds of consumer items in 2002.

    Food,drinks,and tobacco accounted for the largest proportion of national consumer expenditure.The largest percentage of consumer spending was in Turkey and the number was 32.14%.It was followed by Ireland,Spain,and Italy,with 28.91%,18.80%,and 16.36% respectively.Sweden had the smallest percentage at 15.77%.

    Clothing and footwear constituted the second most important consumer spening in the five countries In Sweden,it got 5.4%,which accounted for the smallest propotion of the five countries.In Italy,however,the number was 9.00%.In other three countries,the percentage were similar,which were at about6.5%.

    The smallest prpotion of nation consumer expenditure was leisure and education.The figure was 4.35% in Turkey.Nevertheless,other four countries’ spending on this item were extremely lower than it in Turkey.The percentage was under 4%.

    Overall, it can be said that food,drink,and tobacco were the most important consumer spending in these three items.The following were clothing and footwear.Leisure and education accounted for the smallest propotion.Meanwhile,the consumer spending of different countries are different.
