Workers are more satisfied when they have many different types of tasks to do during the workday than when they do similar tasks all day long. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Compared with sticking to similar tasks, doing multiple tasks can offer workers more chances to learn, and more respect. In my opinion, different tasks can make workers more satisfied.

To begin with, doing different work can be an interesting thing than doing one thing dumbly. A great example is a school, if students are asked to learn one subject in a whole day, they will be driven crazy. To workers, it is the same. Workers are suffering from tiredness mentally and physically. By learning new knowledge in different tasks, the boringness of their work can be greatly relieved.

What’s more, the achievements of finishing different tasks are better than just finishing one thing repeatedly. In 2021, professor John Andrew at MIT did a survey aiming to find how people like to play in the amusement park. The 500 respondents were randomly selected in 30 major cities in the US. The result shows that 60% of people favor trying different facilities, and only 10% of them want to play the game they like most all the time. When talking about work, people can seldom keep high concentration on repeating one task for its monotonous. Thus, working differently should be a happier choice for most people.

Admittedly, different tasks can also develop workers’ self-esteem. Famous England comic Chaplin once acted as a worker in a modernized industry. He was asked to tighten the screws all the time, which caused he forgot normal behavior in his daily life. The harm of industrialization not only makes people’s bodies tired, but also leaves irreversible harm to workers’ minds. Asking workers to do different jobs, somehow, means that the industry regard workers still as human but not tools for operation. Workers will feel respected, which is also good for them to increase their working efficiency. Then they will be better off for their good work. Thus, being happy is easy.

Similar tasks will drive workers insane if they have to be done all the time. However, different tasks offer a better way for workers to feel more satisfied for its humanity.
