During the Industrial Revolution, workers had to do same tasks all the day, which is bad for their physical and mental health. But nowadays, with the help of labor union, workers have choice to change their tasks. They can work happily and healthy. So I believe that workers are of satisfaction with multiple tasks.
Different type of tasks could keep workers being of psychological health. If the workers do same thing the whole day, they just be treated as a part of machine, they feel no respectation and value of life. Besides, it is reported that many workers leaped to their own death. The reason why they killed themselves is that they do same work day by day with few rest.As a result, some workers cannot bear this kind of life anymore. That means they are very discontent with similar tasks.
Workers could learn more skills from multiple tasks, which is benefical to their development. For example, if a worker who is responsible for assumbling chairs has experienced the whole system of producing chairs, he may have the ability to design a chair by himself. Moreover, People who have many different skills are always more smart. So learning more skills could train workers’ brains. No one will be dissatisfied to own a smart brain.
Assign workers more different tasks could reduce the probability of unemployment. For example, someday automatic robot could replace some steps of an assumble system, so workers who manufacture this part will lose their jobs. Instead, if workers could move to other steps, they can still be employed. That is to say, workers who own various skills for different tasks have less probability to be replaced by machines.
Above all, different type of tasks for workers can improve their mental health, train more skills and ensure stable jobs. Workers are satisfied with various tasks rather than boring single task.
