Nowadays, more and more people have opportunities to go to colleges and universities. And where the budget should be devoted to becomes a hot topic. Some people argue that classes and libraries should enjoy most of the budget. However, I suggest that sports and social activities need equal financial support for a number of reasons.

Firstly, sports are benefical for students’ health while it takes much money to ensure students could enjoy this benefit. Most sudents have a heavy burden on their study, so they actually have both physical fatigue and mental stress, and their bodies are also vulnerable. So they should do sports to eliminate their tiredness, ease their pressure, and boost their immunity. For example, some physical exercise like jogging and swimming could make students more energetic, some team activities like football and basketall are interesting and relaxing so they could keep students from stress. However, each of these sports need a capacious place to play. Thus they need a full budget. Such as swimming, the school should not only build a swimming pool, but also maintain the water-cycling system and either of them need much money. So sports are necessary for students and need financial support.

Secondly, social activities are necessary and also need a lot of money. Students in colleges and universities learn about a wide range of knowledge in their daily studying lives. But some of them could not make full use of them, but could just pass the exam. So when they graduated, they usually could not find a good job. So actually social activities provide a valuable chance for students to master and practice their knowledge. Otherwise, students could improve their communicating skills as well. Each of these benefits chould boost their competitiveness in the future. However, it takes much money to organize or take part in social adtivities.

In a nutshell, sports and social activities are as important as study, so they should recieve equal financial support.
