Nowadays, a growing number of students tend to only major in the academic subjects. As a result they pay less attention to those classes that seem unrelated to their studies. In spite of that, I still hold an opposite view on this phenomenon for some reasons. Because having board knowledge of other subjects is more conductive to the learning process.

To begin with, having access to abundant knowledge in a diverse range of fields would help to their future careers. In order to create outstanding movies, a prestigious director must have insight into all aspects of the society. Therefore it’s essential to master all sorts of knowledge and information from different fields. For instance, the director of the fantastic movie, Parasite, majored in sociology when he was in university. According to his saying, the study of sociology gave him inspiration in his following film creation. He made practical use of the knowledge learned from sociology, film directing as well as other subjects to produce a series of thought-provoking movies, which made him successful in the filming industry. Without having abundant knowledge from different realms, it is impossible for him to direct such amazing film.

Besides, as for students, we can have a clear awareness of what we interested in. As far as I know, many students chose the subjects that they have few concept because it is their parents who made the final decision for them. Once stepping into the college, they may get confused about their future. Because the boring courses will end up causing students lose passion in studying. What’s more, without figuring out the future job they want to have,it is hard for students to clarify an aim to pursue. As a result, the remedy needs to be taken by taking a variety of classes that attract themselves. Through this process students may discover the thing that they are dying for and start to make effort, craving knowledge in that specific area.

To sum up, Having a broad knowledge of different kinds of academic subjects is better than only specializing in one specific subject. For it can not only help people clarify the fields that they really in love with but also conduce to their future careers.

To sum up, I believe that having a broad knowledge of different kinds of academic subjects is better than only specializing in one specific subject. Because it can not only help people clarify the fields that they really in love with but also conduce to their future careers.
