We all know that the world is making such a rapid change today. However, when it comes to the discussions about the attitude towards life, people’s opinions vary. As far as I am concerned, people now are more happy and satisfied with their lives, for we have better living conditions and more entertainment.

Firstly, due to the development of modern society, people’s living conditions have been greatly improved. The world is totally different from what it was in the past, and revolutionary innovations in technology have made our lives more convenient. From the sophisticated public transportation system, to the most advanced smart phone, we can enjoy the benefits of technology. By just purchasing a flight ticket, you can go nearly anywhere you want within hours, and it is also feasible for you to see someone through video chatting. These things were not even imagined in the past. Had it not been the change of the world, our lives could not be so pleasant as today.

In addition, the change of the world also provides us with more diversified methods of entertainment. The prosperous booming in literature, music, and movies are among the most significant examples. We have much more choices for fun than it was several decades ago. It is quite common for people to go to a cinema for a sci-fi movie, while it was quite rare to have the opportunity to watch a film when our parents were kids. One can also enjoy the live show of a basketball game or a concert by just turning on the television. With so many different entertainments, there are more and more people being satisfied with the life we have today.

In conclusion, taking living conditions, entertainment and life stress into consideration, I firmly deem that our life today is more satisfactory and pleasant. With the change of the world, we have had a life more convenient and more colorful.

People begin to realize that there are an increasing number of television advertisements directed towards young children. However, when it comes to the evaluation of these advertisements, people’s opinions vary. As far as efficiency, children’s health and economy are concerned, I firmly hold the opinion that television advertising directed towards young children should not be allowed.

Firstly, some of these advertisements are of negative influence on children’s health. A large proportion of these advertisements directed towards young children are of commodities as candies, toys, trash foods, which does no good and even harm to children’s health. According to a research made by the Health Ministry of China, nearly 52% of the children spend more than 4 hours a day watching TV, and many of them has health problems such as overweight and decayed teeth. Children fascinated by such advertisements tend to spend a large amount of time sitting in sofa to watch them. And they are fond of eating trash foods like potato chips instead of regular meals. Had it not been these advertisements, children’s health couldn’t be so worrisome like this.

Nevertheless, some people argue that these advertisements can help promote some goods’ selling and shouldn’t be banned. Indeed, these advertisements can result in a temporary boost in sales economy, but in the long run it’s drawbacks might out weigh the advantage. Confronting the short term profits of selling these goods, people tend to only focus on the sales targeting at children. Instead of expanding market scale and sales volume on commodities facing adults. These kinds of arrangement are may form an inverted market structure, bringing recession on long time sales performance. It isn’t the true solution to this problem, it only leaves the risk to the future.

In conclusion, concerning health and economy, I maintain that these television advertising directed towards young children should not be allowed. Only by monitoring these advertisements’ number and quality can we embrace a better environment for children’s growth and economy.
