Human behavior can be influenced by both internal and external factors. In this statement,  the author asserts that people’s behavior is largely determined by external factors rather than their own minds. However,  the distinct nature of internal forces also affects decision-making. Thus,  both  external forces and people’s own making help to shape human behaviors.

On one hand,  external forces stipulate regulations to hold people accountable for their behaviors. There is a general consensus that people must obey the rules to guarantee the safety of each other. Laws determine to a large extent what can be or cannot be done.  For instance,  companies may copy or steal others’ intellectual property to boost sales.  Without the punishment of laws,  such behavior might cause social disorder.   This means that decisions can only be made in a socially acceptable way.

That being said,  I would argue that people are mentally capable of making decisions and implementing their plans. If their decisions have little to do with social norms,  then people can certainly follow their own will.  For instance,  People can choose different painting colors to decorate houses at their discretion because they have the right to make use of their own money. As long as decisions do not conflict with social guidelines,  people can make decisions reflecting personal volition.

From the discussion above,  apparently,  both external and internal factors affect our decisions. Different kinds of investment products can be considered as long as people do not make use of their money illegally. The external forces provide people with a limited environment,  inside which people are able to decide freely. This means that external forces and mental world jointly shape human’s choices.

To sum up,  the mechanisms of external and internal forces are both of vital importance. Merely emphasizing the influence of external forces is one-sided

It is hard to require all the artists to make their artwork understandable to everyone. Thus,  instead of catering to the appetite of the market,   artwork should reflect the artists’ expression and mental world.

Nowadays,  a new commercial model shows up in the film industry,  which only cares about the profit regardless of the value of movies. Admittedly,  such movies indeed attract a large number of people. They are willing to pay for the visual enjoyment and vivid images presented by advanced cinematic techniques. However, this model encourages the film producers to abandon artistic films but lavish money in movies with high returns. With the evanescent value of these works, commercial movies may hardly gain popularity in the long term.

The possession of merit of the artwork does not necessarily require artwork to be popular.  For instance,  the value of Van Gogh’s works was hardly recognized during his lifetime. The paintings embodying his unique inner world were perplexing to the public. It may be difficult for people who didn’t share the same life stories with the painters to appreciate their works at first. In the later generation,  people can sympathize with the painter and acclaim his painting techniques and the color utilization.  The painting,  Sunflower,  vividly shows the passion and ambition towards life.

To sum up, merely pandering to the public at the expense of art’s value is not reasonable. The requirement to appreciate some artwork is quite demanding. To gain a better understanding,  people should foster our aesthetic appreciation.

Education is a crucial part for individuals to learn knowledge before entering the society. Some people hold the view that education should give priorities to academic subjects. However, other people emphasize that students should learn to distinguish what is right and wrong. In my observation, righteous values can make the students behave better.

Merely mastering academic knowledge will not qualify an individual to adapt to the society. When looking for jobs,  in many students’ opinion,  educational background is the only thing that matters. Nevertheless , in an interview,  individuals also have to explain how to solve different ethical dilemmas given by the interviewers. Wrong decisions will not only bring about severe consequences to the companies they work for but also affect their promotion . The interviewers tend to prefer the candidates who are able to judge accurately and decisively.

When it comes to the conflicts of personal interests, people are more inclined to choose what is favorable to them. For example, many creative companies gradually languish because of uncontrolled copying. Those stealing others’ intellectual properties only care about the profit but ignore ethical principles.  Thus,  students should learn how to behave morally during the stage of education.

The gainsayers may argue that teaching how to judge things can be a waste of time, with no improvement in students’ grades. Admittedly, the fundamental requirement for many jobs is whether the grade is up to standard. However, the quality of education should also be measured by the behaviors of the students, which enables students to go further in their careers.

To sum up, schools should pay more attention to the behaviors of the students. Only with righteous values and strong personalities can one become successful.

Education is a crucial part for individuals to learn knowledge before entering into the society. Some people hold the view that education should give priorities to academic subjects. In my observation, however, teachers should develop the students the ability to judge what is wrong and right.

Merely mastering academic knowledge will not qualify an individual to adapt to the society. For example, in an interview, individuals have to explain how to solve ethical dilemmas given by the interviewers, which is far beyond theoretical knowledge. Wrong decisions will not only bring about severe consequences to the companies they work for but also destroy their own careers. Thus, learning how to distinguish right and wrong will help individuals to perform better in their work.

When it comes to the conflicts of personal interests, people are more inclined to choose what is favorable to them. Losing the sight of larger social frame, they are easily attempted by corruption and even crimes. Many companies copy and imitate profitable designs and products , which not only breaches laws but also severely impairs the creation of new products.

The gainsayers may argue that teaching how to judge things can be a waste of time, with no improvement in students’ grades. However, the quality of education should also be measured by the behaviors of the students. Any impetuous teaching models will do harm to the students in the long term.

To sum up, schools should pay more attention to direct the behaviors of the students. Only with righteous values and strong personalities can one become successful.
