If the university were to provide new services in dormitories, I would definitely favor a quiet study room. In my perspective, it [ unclear pronoun ] is the most wanted yet often neglected need, and it [ unclear pronoun ] will serve the students better than the other two proposals.

To begin with, studying takes up a lot of students’ time. Just by speculations, in a busy week schedule of a college student, studying for 10 to 40 hours is normal. The statistics may vary, but they reveal a trend. If a study room is introduced, it will be used frequently and persistently. Also, it [ use noun to replace pronoun ] can benefit a large group of students.

Additionally, most schools have gyms and cinemas on campus already, or at least in the neighborhood. In some cases, dorm buildings even own in-built gyms and karaoke, which is convenient enough. To elaborate, building additional facilities leads to dorm reconstruction, routine cleaning, and space reallocation. Are all these efforts really worth it? In my opinion, the work is unnecessary.

Lastly, exercise and entertainment are noisy, yet a dorm is a place to rest. Eligible [ incorrect word ] roommates take care of other people’s schedules, and they will be quiet when others rest or try to relax. In this case, the time spent in those rooms is limited. Furthermore, a lot of times, you have to control yourself not to interrupt.  For example, I should not laugh out really loud when someone else is trying to sleep or run on a treadmill while others are meditating.

In summary, building study areas is the most efficient and effective choice. It will benefit most students, and it is worth the money and time.

Some first-year college students do not have good study habits. Some people believe that colleges should provide all of the first-year students with a required course to develop their good study habits. Other people believe that providing this kind of course is unnecessary. What is your opinion and why?

Education, especially high-level (change to “higher”) education, is of paramount importance (simplify) to cultivating students’ creativity and independence. The fact (change to “this”) may mislead some people to claim that it is not sensible to set up required courses in college (wordy – simplify). However, such a statement suffers from logical and factual fallacies. As far as I am concerned (change to “In my opinion”), arranging a studying (delete) skill(s) course for first-year students is necessary.

First and foremost, providing the course can immediately improve students’ study (delete) efficiency. In fact, differences between college and high-school results in students’ poor academic performances (too vague). Some first-year students might be afraid of presentations or group-works (singular). Others are not able (change to “unable”) to make an efficient schedule, just frittering away much time for (preposition error) endless self-study. To solve these problems, there are some (change to “we should include”) studying instructions and methodologies within the course, and it will (wrong verb) improve their study efficiency as soon as possible (unnecessary).

Furthermore, the course is essential to improving faculties(change to “administration”) work (delete) efficiency. For example, when I was a freshman on campus, there was no cause (chose different word) to tell me how to use a look-up system through (preposition error) computers. One day, when I was in trouble, the faculty in the library came and taught me to use it. Then she said she have answered the same question hundreds of times during a day (combine two previous sentences). In contrast, if the guidance had already been included in the course, the faculty would have more time to deal with other things.

Admittedly, a voice arises that self-controlled students have no necessity to take the course (delete). However, they might make (While there might be) some mistakes without professional guidance (during the implementation of the course). Besides (Additionally), for students who are originally confused about studying or communicating, the course is the most effective and efficient tool to solve their problems.

As a result, I maintain that the course is beneficial to students and the whole college. While some people may oppose me, I believe they will compromise after the exposure to my article (unnecessary – delete).

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All university students should be required to take history courses no matter what their field of study is. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

History is not the (article error) major that every college student takes. However, it has been suggested that all college students should take compulsory history courses. From my perspective, the (this) idea should be strongly supported (why? give a reason here).

To begin with, learning history is very beneficial. It helps people to broaden their view, learn more about different cultures as well as (and) sharpen their mind (combine two previous sentences). Take myself as an (For) example, I took an online history lesson about the British monarchy a few months ago. Although the course is more narrative than reflective, (delete) it helped me get a sense of the glory of the royal family, the duties of a sovereign (nation) and how the British government is formed. (change to a period) It felt like a deep dive into the (delete) British culture and brought me fresh perspectives on democracy.

Moreover, college history lessons should be mandatory (delete sentence, repetitive). In my opinion, learning about history is an essential building block of a person’s personality. We need to have a better grasp of our own culture to know who we are. Also, only by reflecting on the past can a person learn about the mistakes humans have made.  Thus, history lessons should be compulsory for every college student, not selective (change to “optional”).

Conversely, some people may argue that why (delete) we need mandatory history classes at universities, not middle school (change to “in middle schools, not universities). Even, whether taking history classes is better than watching documentaries, as it is more cost-efficient (rephrase sentence, it is confusing).  In my opinion, college-level history courses are necessary (delete sentence repetitive). Only by read(ing) through book(s) lists (delete) and write(ing) formal essays can a student gain an in-depth view over (preposition error) a part of history. Such training is paramount (crucial to a student’s development).

To sum up (In summary), it is my contention that colleges should provide compulsory history classes to all students. It is of high importance and is a good investment of money (delete – redundant), as it helps shape the students into ideal (responsible) citizens.
